how could you carry out a skin test and state the importance of compleating a skin test?

this is for perming and tinting of the eyelashes
I take it you mean a skin sensitivity test?
A small patch of the of the cream or whatever on the inside of the elbow and left for 48 hours to test for an allergic reaction should be long enough to see if you skin shows a reaction.
The importance of one is as above, to test you are not allergic. Your system can build up allergies to skin and hair products over the years, thus why even if you have been using a product such as hair dye for a long time, you should do a skin test with each use.
Are you doing a talk for a class? – it kinda sounds like it. If you need to demonstrate just use a bit of moisturiser on your arm to show them where they need to put the product.
